TN govt lifts ban on recruitment

Yesterday the DMK government removed the ban on recruitment in government departments imposed by previous ADMK regime during 2002 stating financial crisis in the state. A Government Order was issued to this effect along with guidelines for preparing the list of vacancies. The ban was raised as an issue by the then opposition parties during the assembly elections. By lifting the ban, the DMK government has fulfilled yet another election promise which included free color TV, rice at Rs 2 per kg, and waiver of cooperative loans to farmers.
