Your Opinion

As most of you know Nalini was one of the accused involved in the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991. She is now incarcerated in a prison in India. Since last week, she was on hunger strike demanding that Indian authorities provide assistance for her child's education. Nalini wants the Indian government to permit her child to study in India. Her child is presently in Sri Lanka where a tense war like situation prevails between the LTTE rebels and Sri Lankan government.

Most politicians in Tamil Nadu have evaded a direct reply to this question (and understandably so ;-)) because doing so would portray them as being pro-LTTE. I would like to know your opinion on this issue. Should Nalini's child be allowed to study in India on humanitarian grounds based on the situation in Sri Lanka? or should Indian government ignore such demand. Your comments…
