Will DMK share power with Congress?

The Tamil Nadu unit of Congress has been pressurising its High Command to allow it to participate in the DMK led government in the state. For its part, the Congress' Central Unit doesn't want to rub its ally the DMK the wrong way by making this request. It will be interesting to see if Sonia Gandhi will place this demand before DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi, when both of them meet tomorrow.

Before leaving for New Delhi yesterday, Karunanidhi merely described his scheduled meeting with the Congress President as a courtesy call. Should he choose to, Karunanidhi can still accommodate about 5 more ministers in his government. But judging by his reaction, its unlikely he will give in to the demand made by the TNCC. A clearer picture is likely to emerge tomorrow after the meeting between the two leaders.
