MDMK to continue in UPA

MDMK chief Vaiko told reporters that his party will continue to support the UPA government at the centre. Talking to the reporters for the first time after the elections, MDMK chief Vaiko alleged that he was receiving threats from people close to Karunanidhi's son MK Stalin. He also condemned the actions of the Sri Lankan government on the LTTE.

When asked about the dismal performance of the MDMK in this assembly eelctions, Vaiko said that his party had nothing to lose and had infact improved its tally from zero to six seats in the assembly. He also confirmed that MDMK will continue to remain in the ADMK alliance for the local  body elections. Earlier in the day, MDMK selected former Union Minister Kannappan to head the legislature party in the assembly.
