Starbucks in India?

US Coffee retail giant Starbucks announced its intention to enter the Indian market in 2007 during its Q3 earnings conference. Starbuck’s CEO Howard Schultz said that the company was looking at potential joint venture partners with the right “business and retail experience”. The company said that it initially plans to start retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. It will be interesting to see if Starbucks will be able to make any headway in the Indian market like it has done in the United States since traditionally India has been a tea drinking nation. But the company intends to cash in on the emerging coffee culture especially among the younger generation.

Suriya to wed Jothika on Sept 11

Jo and SuriyaTamil Film actors Suriya and Jothika are getting married on September. This was announced in a press release by Suriya’s father Sivakumar. The marriage will take place on the 11th followed by reception in Chennai on September 12th at Mayor Sri Ramanathan Chettiar Centre. Suriya and Jothika have been going steady for a number of years now but they had decided to put off the marriage as both of them were concentrating on their career.

Suriya, son of illustrious actor Sivakumar, has carved a niche for himself as a fine actor, capable of doing different kinds of roles without worrying about the risk factor. He had always been keen on doing challenging roles. He had an unsual role in Pithamagan, Ayutha Ezhuthu, Gajini, Mayavi and Perazhagan. Jothika, daughter of Chander Sadanah, has acted with almost all the leading heroes of the south Indian film industry including Suriya. So this official announcement should set all rumors about the couple to rest.
